Year after year USC Events kills it with their FreakNight lineup, and this year is no exception. Here are our top artists to check out this Halloween Weekend!
5. Adventure Club
Genres: Dubstep, electro house, drumstep, chillstep, progressive house
Why you can’t miss them: Like how all popular EDM artists start out (I’m looking at you Skrillex and Breathe Carolina) This Montreal based duo started off in a hardcore pop-punk band in high school, eventually exploring further into electronic music. Six years later they have toured the world and graced the stages at festivals such as Coachella and Bonnaroo. Their unique sound is a melodic brand of debstep, it’s no wonder why they are one of the biggest names in the game.
Genres: Trap, dubstep, electro house, electronic rock, gorestep
Why you can’t miss him: Born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel, Borgore started off playing drums in a metal band. His songs incorporate inlfuences from alternative rock, hip hop and trap music. Self described as “gorestep,” his music uses triplet drum patterns, and he isn’t afraid to cover any topic. Plus, we can’t forget about “Decisions” Feat. Miley Cyrus.
3. Benny Benassi
Genres: House, electrohouse, progressive house, micro house, electro, techno.
Why you can’t miss him: Benny Benassi is a legend. A pioneer in electronic music. With a career spanning over 30 years, he is widely regarded as one of the most internationally respected and w treasured artists in the music industry. He can be attributed to bringing house music to the mainstream. His live performances are charismatic and full of flair. There’s never a dull moment when he’s on stage.

Genres: Psychedelic trance, electric house, electronica, electronic rock, glitch hop, industrial
Why you can’t miss them: Incorporating pumping grooves, infectious melodies, live instruments, and vocals into their performances, Infected Mushroom’sÂ energetic live shows can’t be missed. They continue to sell out top venues in New York, LA, and London and have no intention on slowing down. This Israeli duo has a career spanning almost 20 years and they aren’t afraid to employÂ acoustic guitars, complex synthesized basses, and a sick multimedia backdrop.

Why you can’t miss them: There is no doubt that the French have been killing electronic music for decades. From Daft Punk, to M83, Telopopmusik, Phoenix, and of course, Justice. Â This Grammy-nominated duo’s style combines cut up bass lines with a compressed and distorted synth sound. Their live shows are captivating, and their remixes of already beloved songs bring something new to the table. They are innovators that create an inimitable sound that is entirely their own by utilizing rock tones and disco-inspired vocals and it is unparalleled.
