10 Artists You Can’t Miss This Fall Festival Season

This fall season is jammed packed with music festivals, here is my list of the top 10 artists you can’t miss this season!

10. Prince Fox

Prince Fox started off as a guitarist based out of Brooklyn, one of his earliest influences was singer/songwriter John Mayer. It wasn’t until he attended New York City’s famous EDM festival Electric Zoo where he conjured an interest on how to create and produce electronic music.

Known for making “forward- thinking pop,” Prince Fox has collaborated with Hailee Stienfield, Melody Noel, and Michelle Buzz. His music set’s itself apart from most electronic because his background as a musician is a clear influence in his musical outputs. It’s unique, smart, original, and will guarantee dancing from even the most apprehensive.

Fun Fact: His moniker comes from two characters from the children’s book The Little Prince.

Germany has been a pioneer of electronic music since the genre began. Moving to Berlin in 1988 with his turntable to pursue a career in electronic music he quickly became one of the cities most prominent DJ’s. Schulz is  coming off of the greatest summer of his career. I can’t even turn on the radio without hearing his hit single “Sugar” featuring Francesco Yates turning on at some point. He began DJing at the tender age of 17 and had his own club night by 20. He then began to produce his own music. His melodic bouncy pop-house style has set him apart from other electronic artists today. Did I mention he’s German, too?

English Dubstep producer Flux Pavillon started off in a guitar based band in 2008, but after he downloaded some music creation software he realized that the future was in digital music and he never looked back. He blew up in 2011 with his hit “Bass Cannon” and he has not slowed down. Exploring different aspects of Dubstep and engineering new sounds in the musical realm, Flux Pavilion’s music is not only something that is enjoyable in a live setting but it transcends into something you’d want to listen to with your headphones on at home.

The best part about music festivals is diversity. CRSSD in San Diego has set itself apart by doing the unimaginable: booking an indie pop band at an electronic festival. Miike Snow is the collaborative effort of Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, and Andrew Wyatt. Karlsson and Winnberg were previously in the production duo Bloodshy & Avant, even producing Britney Spears’ smash hit “Toxic” and winning a Grammy for it in 2005 for Best Dance Recording.

To see them perform their 2009 hit single “Animal” live would be enough of a reason to catch their set. Miike Snow’s most recent album iii has made it into the Billboard top 100 charts and is one of the funnest albums to come out this year.

Despite the fact that they are named after airplane toilets, Australian duo Flight Facilities music is simply dreamy. Forming in 2009 they started remixing other artists music before crafting their own material. Flight Facilities music is special. Their music is thought provoking and goose-bump inducing.  Their music is memorable and has an ability to transcend genres.
